PRVI c.45 ACP 230gr FMJ 50RDS
This round features the 45’s traditional 230 grain full metal jacket projectile. That’s a simple, balanced type of bullet with a lead core and gilding metal jacket that hardens it for reliable feeding in a semi-auto. Most people exclusively train with FMJs, but very few would consider them an ideal option for self-defense.
This round’s 837 fps muzzle velocity is right in line with what the 1911 prefers. Its ballistic coefficient of 0.216 keeps the bullet going 810 fps at 50 yards or 786 fps at 100, and if you’re zeroed in at the former range you can get by with a trajectory that rises by less than 2”.
